DescriptionOn the album Closer to Paradise, Spark goes on a musical journey together with the well-known countertenor Valer Sabadus. They capture the feeling of longing in a wealth of different sounds. Baroque arias, Romantic lieder and Impressionistic melodies fuse with avant-garde sounds, folk tunes, chansons and rock songs to emerge as completely new sound scenes. The spectrum ranges from Antonio Vivaldi, Robert Schumann, Gabriel Fauré and Kurt Weill to Leo Ferré, Depeche Mode and Rammstein. Original compositions by the Spark members complete this refreshingly colourful collection. There is something timeless about the individual works in the new context, just as the feeling of longing is an all-embracing and timeless phenomenon.

Be Baroque
2020 Berlin Classics, 0301423BCDescriptionBe Baroque is a thoroughly modern and very personal look at Bach, Vivaldi, Handel and their contemporaries. Baroque manners are assimilated, spun and transformed into the musical language of the 21st century. The colour spectrum ranges from almost true-to-the-original reproduction through to a completely new composition. With just a few exceptions the arrangements, new adaptions and compositions on the CD were all made by the Spark members. With a contemplative and calm basic mood, Be Baroque highlights a quite different, more melancholy side of the Classical Band.

Facets of Infinity
2017 Neue Meister/EdelDescriptionFacets of Infinity for Spark and large symphony orchestra clothes the concept of endlessness in a blissfully sensual fabric of sound. The work has been written by celebrated Berlin-based composer Johannes Motschmann who merges the romantic concerto tradition with elements of electronic music. These are melodies that have no beginning and no end. Everything is in flux, in constant movement. The result is a steady stream of new, wide expanses of sound, constantly renewed, merging into one another, complementing each other, superimposed and mutually liberated. A thrilling listening experience!
